Major Winter Storm to Bring Snow and Ice from the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic

A major winter storm will produce widespread significant impacts from the central Plains across the Ohio and Tennessee valleys, and into the Mid-Atlantic region this weekend into Monday. Areas between central Kansas and Indiana, especially along and north of Interstate 70, are likely to receive heavy snowfall. Icing is likely from eastern Kansas into the southern Appalachians. The mornings will be very cold for the next work week, with wind chills down into the low 20s to upper teens, and perhaps less than 15 degrees in some locations. Make sure to dress warmly, limit time outdoors, and protect the 4 P's: Pets, People, Pipes and Plants!
A strong cold front will move through west central Texas Sunday bringing much colder air into the area early next week. Expect above normal temperatures through Saturday before the front. Temperatures will be below normal early next week with freezing temperatures likely each night.
