HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMS WERE OVER THE REGION DURING MOST OF
THE MONTH. THE AIRMASSES WERE DRY WITH A LACK OF CLOUD
COVER. THIS RESULTED IN A PATTERN WITH LARGER RANGES
BETWEEN THE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURES AND OVERNIGHT LOWS.
THE DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURES WERE ABOVE NORMAL...ESPECIALLY
ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL TEXAS.
THE NUMBER OF DAYS WHERE HIGH TEMPERATURES REACHED 88

WERE MUCH COOLER ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL SECTIONS OF
WEST CENTRAL TEXAS ON THE 3RD. TEMPERATURES WERE LIMITED
TO HIGHS IN THE MID TO UPPER 60S ACROSS THE BIG COUNTRY.
THE MUCH COOLER TEMPERATURES WERE PARTLY THE RESULT OF
EXTENSIVE CLOUD COVER...WHICH ACCOMPANIED AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVING INTO THE REGION FROM THE NORTHWEST. A
FEW LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS OCCURRED ON THE 3RD IN THE
NORTHWESTERN CONCHO VALLEY AND WESTERN BIG COUNTRY.
CLEARING SKIES DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS OF THE 3RD AND

THE MONTH...WITH WARM AFTERNOONS AND COOL NIGHTTIME

STRONGER COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE ON THE 12TH.
TEMPERATURES DIPPED INTO THE UPPER 30S TO LOWER 40S FOR

15TH.
FROM THE LATE HOURS OF THE 18TH INTO THE POST-MIDNIGHT
HOURS OF THE 19TH...SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
OCCURRED ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF WEST CENTRAL TEXAS.
THESE WERE ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND
APPROACH OF A COLD FRONT. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL BETWEEN
1.5 AND 3 INCHES OCCURRED ACROSS PARTS OF FISHER COUNTY.
WIDELY SCATTTERED LOCATIONS ACROSS THE BIG COUNTRY AND
FAR NORTHERN CONCHO VALLEY RECEIVED BETWEEN ONE HALF INCH
AND 1.5 INCHES. ELSEWHERE THE AMOUNTS VARIED UNDER ONE
HALF INCH.
MORE ABRUPT CHANGES IN THE WEATHER PATTERN OCCURRED LATE
IN THE MONTH.

APPROACH OF AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE FROM NORTHERN
MEXICO AND A DRYLINE RETREATING TO THE WEST...SHOWERS

THE EARLY MORNING OF THE 23RD. ONE OF THE STORMS BECAME
STRONG AND PRODUCED HAIL...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL. NICKEL TO QUARTER SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED

HIGHS...ON THE 27TH...AT SOME LOCATIONS IN SOUTHERN PARTS
OF WEST CENTRAL TEXAS.
FOLLOWING A COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE ON THE 27TH...A HIGH
PRESSURE SYSTEM SETTLED INTO AREA. WITH DRY AIR...CLEAR
SKIES AND LIGHT WINDS...TEMPERATURES DIPPED INTO THE 30S
FOR LOWS ON THE 29TH. SCATTERED FROST OCCURRED...ALONG
WITH A LIGHT FREEZE AT SOME LOCATIONS. THE COLDEST LOW
