A strong, long-duration atmospheric river will bring excessive rainfall, flash flooding, and very strong winds to southwest Oregon and northwest California through Thursday. WEST CENTRAL TEXAS IN NOVEMBER...

AT ABILENE REGIONAL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR 
NOVEMBER WAS 51.1 DEGREES. THIS WAS 2.6 DEGREES BELOW THE 
NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 53.7 DEGREES. TOTAL 
PRECIPITATION FOR ABILENE IN NOVEMBER WAS 0.93 INCHES. THIS 
WAS 0.37 INCHES BELOW THE MONTHLY NORMAL OF 1.30 INCHES.   

AT SAN ANGELO REGIONAL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR 
NOVEMBER WAS 51.5 DEGREES. THIS WAS 2.5 DEGREES BELOW THE 
NORMAL AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 54.0 DEGREES. TOTAL 
PRECIPITATION FOR SAN ANGELO IN NOVEMBER WAS 0.52 INCHES. 
THIS WAS 0.58 INCHES BELOW THE MONTHLY NORMAL OF 1.10 
INCHES.  


NOVEMBER 2002 WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS...

DRY WEATHER PREVAILED ACROSS WEST CENTRAL TEXAS THROUGH
MOST OF NOVEMBER. THE WEATHER PATTERN WAS NOT FAVORABLE
FOR MOISTURE RETURN FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. A SERIES OF
DRY COLD FRONTS MOVED SOUTHWARD THROUGH THE REGION...
BRINGING INTRUSIONS OF COLDER AIR. HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEMS
FOLLOWED THE COLD FRONTS...BRINGING MAINLY CLEAR SKIES...
LOW HUMIDITY AND PLEASANT TEMPERATURES. 

A FEW UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES BROUGHT RAIN TO THE AREA...
MOST NOTABLY IN THE EARLY AND LATE PARTS OF THE MONTH.

THE FIRST FREEZE OF THE AUTUMN SEASON OCCURRED THROUGHOUT
WEST CENTRAL TEXAS DURING NOVEMBER. ABILENE RECORDED ITS 
FIRST FREEZE (LOW TEMPERATURE OF 32 DEGREES OR BELOW) ON 
THE 6TH. FOR JUNCTION...THE FIRST FREEZE OCCURRED ON THE 
7TH. SAN ANGELO RECORDED ITS FIRST FREEZE ON THE 27TH.
