This weekend into next week, a series of atmospheric rivers will bring gusty winds, periods of heavy rain, and mountain snow to northern California and the Pacific Northwest. PRECIPITATION FOR JULY WAS ABOVE NORMAL ACROSS MUCH OF WEST
CENTRAL TEXAS. SCATTERED POCKETS ACROSS THE REGION RECEIVED
AMOUNTS WHICH WERE NEAR TO SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. THE GREATEST
MONTLY PRECIPITATION WAS ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN SECTIONS OF WEST
CENTRAL TEXAS.

AT ABILENE REGIONAL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR JULY
WAS 78.8 DEGREES. THIS WAS 4.7 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE OF 83.5 DEGREES. THIS MARKS THE 4TH COOLEST JULY
ON RECORD FOR ABILENE. TOTAL PRECIPITATION FOR JULY WAS 2.41
INCHES. THIS WAS 0.71 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 1.70 INCHES.

AT SAN ANGELO REGIONAL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR
JULY WAS 78.1 DEGREES. THIS WAS 4.3 DEGREES BELOW THE NORMAL
AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 82.4 DEGREES. THIS MARKS THE 2ND
COOLEST JULY ON RECORD FOR SAN ANGELO. TOTAL PRECIPITATION
FOR JULY WAS 1.84 INCHES. THIS WAS 0.74 INCHES ABOVE THE
MONTHLY NORMAL OF 1.10 INCHES.

JUNCTION RECORDED 3.66 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FOR JULY.


JULY 2007 WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS...

THE FLOW PATTERN ALOFT ALLOWED A NUMBER OF WEAK DISTURBANCES
TO REMAIN OVER THE REGION DURING JULY. PERIODIC SHOWERS AND
AND THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED ON A NUMBER OF DAYS...AND SOME
CONTAINED LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL. WITH THE PRESENCE OF A
MOIST AIRMASS (MORE MOIST THAN TYPICAL FOR JULY)...CLOUDS AND
WITH THE SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY...TEMPERATURES WERE
CONSISTENTLY BELOW NORMAL DURING THE MONTH.

DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WERE HELD BELOW 90 DEGREES FOR 18 DAYS
