AT JUNCTION...THE TOTAL RAINFALL FOR JULY WAS ONLY 0.08 INCHES. TEMPERATURES AVERAGED BELOW NORMAL FOR JULY. AT ABILENE REGIONAL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR JULY WAS 80.4 DEGREES. DURING THE EVENING AND EARLY NIGHTTIME HOURS OF THE 24TH...A COLD FRONT MOVED SOUTHWARD ACROSS WEST CENTRAL TEXAS. AN UNUSUALLY COOL AIRMASS SETTLED INTO THE REGION ON THE 25TH AND 26TH...AND WAS ACCOMPANIED BY CONSIDERABLE CLOUDCOVER. THIS HELD TEMPERATURES DOWN WITH READINGS WELL BELOW NORMAL FOR LATE JULY. A NUMBER OF COOL TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET AT ABILENE AND SAN ANGELO. AT ABILENE...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ONLY REACHED 70 DEGREES ON THE 25TH. THIS TIED THE RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH OF JULY...WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY SET ON FOUR OTHER OCCASIONS.
