A Flood Watch will go into effect this evening and continue through Thursday evening for portions of southeast Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible. This will lead to flooding concerns for low-lying and flood-prone areas.
There is a Slight Risk for some severe thunderstorms on Thursday. Right now the main threat appears to be damaging winds along with the threat for a few isolated tornadoes possible. The greatest threat will be for areas of deep east Texas and north/central Louisiana.
Overnight temperature minimums will be milder, only falling into the 50s/lower 60s, as precipitation and cloud cover continues with a warm front approaching the area.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely overnight, especially concentrated along and north of the I-30 corridor by daybreak.
Here are today's climate records and averages for selected sites across our Four State Area.
