Snow Across the Tennessee Valley and Mid-Atlantic; Pacific Storm Over the Intermountain West

A significant southern winter storm will wrap up tonight into Saturday morning as it slides off the Mid-Atlantic Coast. Prior to its exit, widespread light to moderate snow will fall from the Tennessee Valley to the Mid-Atlantic. A Pacific Storm is expected to bring widespread snows as it races across the northern Great Basin and the northern Plains into the Upper Midwest and Upper Great Lakes. Read More >

A Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect through 9 AM Saturday Morning. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
Although precipitation has come to end across the region, any lingering moisture on area roadways will quickly refreeze tonight through Saturday morning as temperatures plummet well below freezing overnight. Be aware of this threat of black ice if you have travel plans during the evening and overnight hours.
Motorist are urged to take it slow on area roadways, especially across locations along and north of Interstate 30, where many roads remain covered with ice and snow.
With the cold front through the region, temperatures will plunge into the teens north and 20s south. Roadways which remain damp may see the development of black ice overnight. Be especially careful on the roads tomorrow morning.
