Lingering Cold and Snow in the Great Lakes/Appalachians/Northeast; Pacific Storms Continue to Impact the Northwest

In the wake of a storm lifting through the Canadian Maritimes, heavy snow will continue downwind of the Great Lakes through this weekend and over parts of the Appalachians and interior Northeast through Friday along with gusty winds. Dry conditions to remain this afternoon, with highs in the low to mid 60's.

The threat for strong to severe storms Sunday afternoon continues for a portion of the Four State Region. Be sure to monitor the forecast through the end of the week and into the weekend for updates and adjustments.

Forecast confidence continues to increase with regard to an Arctic air outbreak across the eastern U.S. by next week. In addition, there is also at least a low-end chance of some wintry precipitation occurring during this same timeframe next week although confidence remains lower with this possibility.
