A major Santa Ana wind event will begin Tuesday and last through Thursday. Extreme fire weather conditions will be possible Wednesday in inland Orange County, Inland Empire, Santa Ana Mountains, and foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains. It is strongly advised to avoid outdoor burning!
It will be much cooler than Monday in inland areas, as much as 10 to 15 degrees cooler in the mountains and high desert. Highs will only be around 70 in warmest locations at lower elevations with 40s in many mountain locations. This will be accompanied by increasing northeast winds and low humidity to make it feel even cooler.
Slight warming will occur in most locations, though strong winds and low humidity will make the air feel cooler in many areas. Highest temperatures will be in the lower 70s just inland from the coast.
Relative humidity will be below 15% nearly everywhere in southern California, except for slightly less dry conditions in parts of San Diego County. Some locations, especially from the Inland Empire east to the Coachella Valley will be below 10%. Many areas with low humidity will also have strong winds to result in a very high fire danger.
