Graphic depicting details for the upcoming High Surf Advisory Wednesday through Saturday. Currently, there is long period S/SW swell that will continue through Wednesday, bringing 3-6 feet surf with sets to 7 feet.
By Wednesday afternoon, a larger swell, generated by Hurricane Genevieve, is set to reach our shores. Surf forecasts from hurricanes are always subject to change based on its track, but a currently projected 5 foot swell could drive 3-6 foot waves (and strong longshore currents) on west-facing beaches and 5-8 foot waves (sets to 9 feet) on south and southwest-facing beaches.
The current Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through 5 PM Wednesday for elevated surf, then becomes upgraded to a High Surf Advisory.
