Cooler than Wednesday by 4 to 8 degrees for coastal areas to a few degrees above average for the lower deserts. High temperatures for today for the coastal areas: 64 to 72, western valleys and inland Orange County: 70 to 75, inland valleys: 70 to 76, mountains between 4000 ft and 7000 ft: 57 to 66, high desert: 69 to 72, low desert: 76 to 80.
Southwest to west winds will strengthen late tonight and continue through Friday afternoon, then decreasing Friday with the stronger gusts for the mountains and deserts to 35 to 45 mph.
There will be periods of showers for late tonight into Saturday afternoon with the most widespread coverage expected on Friday. Rainfall is expected to range from one-tenth to locally one-quarter inch near the coast to one-third to one-half inch in the mountains, locally to one inch. The snow level will fall to 5000 to 5500 feet on Friday, lowering to around 4000 feet for late Friday night into Saturday morning.
There will be periods of showers from late tonight into Saturday afternoon with the greatest coverage for Friday. The snow level will lower to 5000 to 5500 feet on Friday and around 4000 feet for late Friday night into Saturday morning. There could be snowfall of 3 to 6 inches in the mountains, mostly above 5500 feet.
