High temperatures will continue to cool into the weekend as a weather system approaches the area, pushing through on Saturday.

This weekend's atmospheric river and associated rainfall forecast is proving to be a bit tricky due to the finnicky nature of the cut-off low pressure system driving our upcoming weather. This creates uncertainty in the rainfall totals but the heaviest rainfall will occur late Friday into Saturday. Expecting a 10-20% chance for thunderstorms Friday.

Heaviest rainfall totals are expected Saturday with a 20-30% chance of thunderstorms.

Rain will move in over the area in the early morning hours of Friday with the heaviest rain occurring Saturday. Scattered showers will linger into Sunday with another system expected to continue scattered rain into mid-week next week.
