Heads up if going to the beach or out on the waters over the next few days! High surf and high seas will make for some treacherous conditions. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water! Strong Rip currents expected as well.
Not much change from Sunday near the coast to around 5 degrees warmer for inland areas. High temperatures for today for the coastal areas: 63 to 69, western valleys and inland Orange County: 67 to 73, inland valleys: 70 to 75, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 58 to 67, high desert: 67 to 71, low desert: 77 to 80.
A few degrees cooler than Monday near the coast to 5 to 10 degrees cooler for the mountains and valleys. High temperatures for Tuesday for the coastal areas: 60 to 63, western valleys and inland Orange County: 62 to 65, inland valleys: 62 to 67, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 52 to 61, high desert: 65 to 70, low desert: 73 to 78.
Areas of stronger and gusty southwest to west winds are expected for the mountains and deserts for Tuesday afternoon and night. The strongest winds are expected on Tuesday from late afternoon to around midnight with the stronger gusts to 45 to 55 mph and isolated gusts to around 60 mph.
A band of showers is expected to move southeastward across the area for Tuesday afternoon and early evening with showers ending from the northwest Tuesday night. Rainfall could range from less than one-tenth inch near the coast to one-tenth to one-quarter inch on the coastal mountain slopes with locally greater amounts. A snow level of 7500 to 8000 feet will lower Tuesday night to 4500 to 5000 feet by Christmas morning with a few inches of snowfall possible, mostly above 7500 feet.
