An early season heat wave has the potential to break monthly high temperature records, especially in the mountains and deserts.

Warming trend begins today with highs increasing to 15-20 degrees above normal.

The warming trend continues on Monday with highs as much as 15-25 degrees above normal. Widespread moderate HeatRisk for inland coastal areas, valleys, and low deserts.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the coastal areas and valleys for 10 AM Monday - 8 PM Friday. An Extreme Heat Watch is now in effect for the mountains and low deserts 10 AM Thursday - 8 PM Friday.
