Best chance for storms will be across the mountains from the Mexican border to Big Bear into the high desert. Storms may produce gusty winds, small hail and heavy downpours.
Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week with highs 5 to 10 degrees above normal, locally as high as 15 degrees above normal west of the mountains. Warm overnight low temperatures will offer little relief.
Warming up on Tuesday, with hottest temperatures of the week on Wednesday.
Minor to Moderate Heat Risk for inland valleys and mountains, with Moderate to Major Heat Risk for the deserts.
Make sure to pay attention to your pets as temperatures increase! Give extra water and limit hot pavement walking.
