A strong ridge is bringing extremely anomalous March heat to the region. Coastal San Diego and Orange Counties will experience peak high temperatures Thursday and Friday, around 83–93°F —exceptional for
any time of year—while inland valleys similarly hover around the low to mid 90s. While Saturday offers a slight reprieve (a few degrees cooler), the ridge strengthens again Sunday, setting the stage for daily record
highs (and perhaps a few monthly record highs) across the interior and deserts next week. While coastal temperatures also increase again into next week, only minor HeatRisk is anticipated as the sea breeze will
moderate the temperatures.
