A Heat Advisory remains in effect for the coastal areas, inland valleys, and mountains until 8 PM Friday. An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the lower deserts from 10 AM Wednesday through 8 PM Saturday.
Widespread moderate to locally major HeatRisk expected in the coastal basin through Friday, becoming broadly minor HeatRisk this weekend as temperatures cool. The deserts will experience major HeatRisk conditions through Friday with only slight cooling this weekend.
High temperatures reach up to 30 degrees above the seasonal average for some locations by Thursday! Daily max temperature records will likely be broken for many locations.
By Friday, as the ridge is at its strongest over the region, we will see the hottest temperatures of the week, with quite a few locations likely breaking monthly records within the lower deserts, mountains, and inland areas.
