Temperatures will slowly cool into the weekend as a cooler weaker system moves into the area Saturday.
A cooler weaker system will move into the area Saturday increasing chances for rain through the weekend. The main band is expected to move through in the afternoon with another round of rain expected late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
As the frontal band from the next system approaches, southerly winds will pick up primarily over the San Bernardino County mountains into the high desert from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon with gusts 25-45 MPH at times (locally over 50 MPH on the desert slopes). The desert slopes in other mountain ranges will also be gusty through the weekend as well.
Temperatures will slowly cool into next week as cooler weather patterns move through the area next week.
snow levels will drop closer to 6,500-7,500 feet by Sunday afternoon and evening. Accumulations will be light with places such as Big Bear receiving one inch or less.
