.DISCUSSION...

A stalled frontal boundary will continue to drape across the
area today and into the weekend, which will allow widespread
showers/storms to develop in the early afternoon due to diurnal
heating. High moisture content will cause storms to produce heavy
rainfall, with flash flooding a daily possibility across the entire
area. Isolated damaging winds are also possible with the strongest
storms. The front moves back north out of the area on Sunday, but
the summer-time pattern of afternoon storms will continue into early
next week, but storms will be more scattered in nature. A cold front
moves through the area on Tuesday, with drier conditions expected
heading into the middle of next week. Winds mostly remain light,
though Sunday will have gusts of 15-20 mph along/west of the Blue
Ridge. Warm and humid conditions persist for the next several days.
