Overview
Gradual clearing ahead of a strong cold front along with strong shear, allowed strong to severe storms to erupt from the North Carolina foothills
into the Virginia Piedmont late in the afternoon into the evening of April 11th, 2024. A couple of these storms produced tornadoes. One in the Wilkesboro, NC area,
and the other near Swansonville, VA.
