Back-to-Back Pacific Storms to Impact the West Coast; Heavy Snow in the Central Appalachians

Back-to-back powerful Pacific storm systems to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California through the end of this week with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow. The December 2017 climate summaries for Big Piney, Buffalo, Casper, Greybull, Lake Yellowstone, Lander, Riverton, Rock Springs, and Worland are now available online.

December 2017 was above normal, temperature-wise and much above normal for precipitaton for most areas. Only Rock Springs and Big Piney were drier than normal, both of which were also much warmer than normal. Big Piney saw it's warmest December on record.
