Flooding Threat in the Northeast; Severe Storms in the High Plains; Excessive Heat in the South

Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall will be possible through this evening across the Northeast. Additional heavy to excessive rainfall on previously saturated soils will likely lead to flash flooding.
