We will transition to a cool and showery weather pattern this weekend into early next week. Expect accumulating snow with significant travel impacts in the Cascades and Coast Range this weekend. Snow levels lower on Sunday to around 500 feet or lower, and then remain low through Tuesday aside from a slight increase in snow levels Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon as daytime temperatures warm above freezing across the valley floor. While snow will be in the air at times for elevations below 500 ft, mainly during the overnight/morning hours each day, expect minimal travel impacts as accumulations will be light, slushy, and short-lived (generally only a light dusting to one inch with melting of snow during the afternoon and evening hours each day). Snow will tend to melt on sidewalks and roads for elevations below 500 ft, with minor accumulation more likely to occur on elevated surfaces and grass.
