Our recent snowfall will remain on the ground through the weekend, as temperatures remain mostly below freezing. Then, fans of warmer weather rejoice! A pattern shift is forecast to bring warmer temperatures starting Monday and continuing into the following weekend.
Here's how the winter season (Dec-Feb) has started with observed mean temps and their departure from normal so far, and the latest monthly outlook for January issued by the Climate Prediction Center. While we will see a warmup this week, the overall consensus of longer range models (including AI) point towards January being below normal as well in our neck of the woods.
