Periods of rain will lead to a soaking rain across the region through Saturday. While widespread flooding is not expected at this time, nuisance poor-drainage flooding and strong river rises are possible. We will continue to monitor rainfall potential, and if flooding risk increases, a Flood Watch may become necessary.
There is a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather on Thursday. The primary hazards will be damaging wind and a brief tornado. Confidence is highest in northern West Virginia, but if there is more clearing farther north, the threat could extend farther north.
A Day 3 Slight Risk for severe weather has been issued for Saturday March 7th. At this time, all 3 hazards are in play until we know a bit more about the event in the coming couple of days. At this point, timing seems to be more in the later afternoon through the evening on Saturday.
