Overview

 

We provide forecast and warning services for 36 counties in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland and West Virginia, as named on the map below.

 

 

In addition, we provide aviation weather services to the following airports; Pittsburgh International; Beaver County (Beaver Falls); Allegheny County; Arnold Palmer Regional (Latrobe); Morgantown Municipal; Venango Regional (Franklin); Jefferson County (Du Bois); Zanesville Municipal; and Wheeling Ohio County. There are 121 field offices like ours across the country. All offices are comparably staffed and equipped, with state-of-the-art computer technology and Doppler radar. There are also support centers for severe local storms in Norman, OK; For national aviation interests in Kansas City; the National Hurricane Center in Miami, FL; and 13 River Forecast Centers across the country to assist in river hydrology. The River Forecast Center we rely upon for assistance is located in Wilmington, OH. Our local service area includes the second biggest inland port in the country.
