Overview

On the eve of January 20th, a cold front passed through the area allowing a strong surge of cold air to filter into the region. This was followed by a second arctic front that produced some lake enhanced upslope snow showers. This persisted from the overnight hours from the 19th into the 20th. The main impact from this event was in the higher elevations in Preston and Tucker Counties in West Virginia where snowfall amounts were over 4 inches.
