Overview
A disturbance moving across the region resulted in thunderstorms developing during the afternoon hours.The main impact associated with these storms was flash flooding. Several locations picked up torrential rainfall amounts over a short time period. Over 4 inches of rain occurred in Union County, Illinois and Pike County, Indiana. Water rescues were needed in Union County and unfortunately 1 fatality occurred there due to the flash flooding. Damaging winds up around 60 mph occurred with several of the storms as well.Radar
Showers and thunderstorms blossomed over southeast Missouri, southwest Illinois and along the I-64 corridor into southwest Indiana during the afternoon hours. They gradually progressed eastward into western Kentucky during the evening hours.

The heaviest rainfall for this event generally occurred from northern portions of southeast Missouri into southern Illinois and southwest Indiana. Rainfall amounts ranged from 1.5 to 3 inches in some of these areas, with a few areas receiving amounts in excess of 4 inches in Union County, Illinois and Pike County, Indiana.
