OHD/HL/HSMB - Hydraulic Models: Support to RFCs

The focus of the Hydraulics Group is to support and guide staff at the NWS field offices (River Forecast Centers) in the development and implementation of hydraulic models in rivers and streams that require such effort. The main task is to develop and evaluate tools to aid the forecasting during the operational stages when hydraulic modeling is required.

Once new tools have been developed and/or existing ones are selected, the training aspect is determined by the hydraulics group. In addition, review of new development plans and concerns about current projects are supported by this group and are a continuous process.
