Powerful Pacific System Impacting the West; First Significant Snow for Portions of the East

Power Pacific system will continue to bring significant impacts for Pacific Northwest into northern California the remainder of the week. Dangerous coastal affects, heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow continues. An impressive winter storm moved onshore into California on Jan 10, 2001. The storm tracked eastward into the Great Basin, but it's precipitation extended all the way from San Diego to Sandpoint, ID. These infrared and visible satellite pictures show the storm at it's peak on 11 January.
