Powerful Pacific System Impacting the West; First Significant Snow for Portions of the East

Power Pacific system will continue to bring significant impacts for Pacific Northwest into northern California the remainder of the week. Dangerous coastal affects, heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow continues. This nicely developed storm brought strong wind and heavy rain and snow to most of the Inland Northwest on Groundhog's Day, 2 Feb 2001. These images show the storm on the afternoon of the 1st before it made landfall.
