Atmospheric River in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies this Weekend

A Pacific storm and atmospheric river will impact the Pacific Northwest states and northern Rockies this weekend, bringing locally heavy low elevations rain and heavy high elevation snow in the mountains. After a very cold and very snowy 4 weeks, residents of the Inland Northwest were finally greeted with a warm up. Temperatures rose to above freezing Tuesday night (January 6, 2009). Below are a couple of video loops from local area webcams showing the receeding snow pack.
