Julia Swanson

Julia Swanson is the Governance Lead in NWS Office of Organizational Excellence leading efforts to update the Governance to help the NWS become more agile, efficient, and effective. The Governance outlines the roles, responsibilities, processes and infrastructure necessary for the NWS to operate and each update helps evolve the NWS to better meet its mission. 

Julia Swanson is passionate about building collaboration, design-thinking, innovation and long-term  human-centric change. Prior to joining the federal government, Julia served as the Interim Director of Government Relations for AdventHealth, a national healthcare system. In this role, she was responsible for day-to-day operations of the department and implementing local and state government relations strategies and advocating for community health policy. 

Julia joined the NWS as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2020, and has had the opportunity to to work on rotation in the NASA’s Mission Support Directorate serving as a Communications and Governance Advisor and in the NWS International Affairs Office service as a Foreign Affairs Specialist managing the Asia and South Pacific Portfolio. 

Julia holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business and holds a B.S. in History from Flagler College.
