Governance

The Governance defines the roles, responsibilities, authorities, and business processes of the NWS. NWS developed the governance document to guide the organization following the 2015 budget restructuring and Headquarters reorganization. To ensure the relevance and effectiveness of Governance processes, OOE monitors performance metrics and updates the document on a regular basis.

• OOE and NWS process owners monitor Governance through metrics and provide annual updates to the document 
• Governance supports transformational change in the NWS

• Execute a communication and change management strategy for Governance v5.0
• Monitor Governance metrics to track progress and desired Governance-related outcomes
• Leverage the Governance Advisory Board to discuss and resolve Governance-related issues and suggest potential updates
• Lead the update to Governance
• Provide process owners guidance and resources to maintain and draft updates for their responsibilities
