Bali WhiteBali White - As an Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity Management Specialist within the National Weather Service's Office of Organizational Excellence, Bali White drives initiatives crucial for fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) within the agency. With a strategic approach, Bali provides leadership, direction, and policy guidance to enhance NWS efforts in building a Weather-Ready Nation. Her role involves challenging the status quo, strengthening organizational health and culture, and assisting in policies and procedures to ensure the NWS meets its science, service, and workforce requirements both now and in the future.

Bali's professional journey reflects her dedication to service and advocacy. Before joining the NWS, she served at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she championed equal opportunity initiatives for historically underserved communities. Bali's academic background is anchored in cultural studies and languages from Columbia University, where she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Her time at Columbia laid the foundation for her interdisciplinary approach to addressing the impacts of climate change on society and the environment. Currently pursuing a Master’s in Atmospheric Science at Howard University in preparation for doctoral studies, Bali is committed to applying multi-disciplinary thinking to atmospheric, climate, and societal issues to provide more equitable weather service delivery to vulnerable populations. 

Outside of her professional pursuits, Bali finds fulfillment in dance and volunteering at the Smithsonian’s Cheetah Conservation and Great Cats exhibits, further embodying her commitment to community engagement and environmental conservation.
