Weather Safety Basics Class

Are you looking for a class about weather that teaches all the basics? Then we've got the class for you! This new class will teach you:

  • Who is the National Weather Service?
  • Middle TN Severe Weather Climatology
  • NWS Products
  • Weather Safety Rules
  • Thunderstorm Basics and Storm Features
  • How and what Severe Weather to report

These classes will allow individuals to complete the course in the comfort of their own home or office using the extremely user-friendly computer program, Go-To Meeting.  The only requirement will be speakers on your computer to listen and if you want to ask questions, you will need to have a VOIP microphone. Additionally, they can be viewed on Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone and Android.

To sign up for an online class, simply click on the link beside the date/time you want to attend, fill out the form and we will forward you a link to register on the Go-To Meeting website.  Register, download the FREE software, and BAM! You can attend the 1.5 - 2.0 hour online class.

NOTE:  These classes are specially designed and taught for Middle Tennessee residents.  While the concepts are the same from office to office, methods by which you provide information to NWS offices can vary.  If you take our class, you will still need to contact the office responsible for the area you live to get the reporting methods for that office.
