...NWS CONFIRMS EF-0 TORNADO DAMAGE IN COFFEE COUNTY FROM LAST NIGHTS STORMS APRIL 13...

NWS NASHVILLE PERSONNEL SURVEYED TORNADO DAMAGE IN COFFEE COUNTY ON TUESDAY. THE TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF HWY 53 AND RIDDLE ROAD IN MANCHESTER. IT THEN TRAVELED NORTHEAST AND ENDED JUST EAST OF RIDDLE ROAD. THE TORNADO DAMAGED A PATH THAT WAS HALF A MILE LONG AND APPROXIMATELY 30 YARDS WIDE.

THE START OF DAMAGE WAS FOUND OFF OF HWY 53 NEAR RIDDLE ROAD. NUMEROUS TREES WERE FOUND TWISTED AND SNAPPED WITH A COUPLE OF SHALLOW ROOTED LARGE TREES UPROOTED ALONG THE DAMAGE PATH. ALSO A HOME HAD SOME DAMAGE TO THE ROOF. BASED ON THE DAMAGE FOUND...WINDS WERE ESTIMATED AT 70 MPH WHICH CORRESPONDS TO EF-0 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE.
