Prolonged Heavy Rain and Heavy Snow Event Continues for Northern California and into the Northern Rockies

A prolonged atmospheric river event will continue to bring moderate to heavy rain with a risk for flooding to northern into central California with heavy mountain snow in the Sierras, southern Cascades, and northern Rockies through midweek. A Flood Watch is in effect from 4 PM Monday through 4 AM Wednesday for the Bay Area and Central Coast. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Advisories/Warnings.
Here's a look at the forecast storm total precipitation between tonight and Friday. Our biggest concerns are flooding of creeks and streams and an increased risk for downed trees due to the combination of wind and moist soils. Turn around, don't drown!
