Dry in the East; Active Pattern for the West

Tranquil and near seasonable weather pattern for most of the eastern U.S. expected this weekend. Along the coastline, continuous onshore flow may bring risk of rip currents and coastal flooding. For the west, a strong cold front will increase winds and fire weather concerns, along with heavy mountain snows. A Red Flag Warning is in effect through 5 PM Saturday for the Bay Area and Central Coast with the exception of coastal Marin, Monterey, and Sonoma Counties.
A Wind Advisory is in effect through 11 PM Friday for the East Bay Interior and Eastern Santa Clara Hills and through 8 AM Saturday for the North Bay Interior Mountains.
