The SPC has issued a general thunderstorm outlook for the Bay Area and Northern Monterey Bay Region for Tuesday. Environment favorability starts to increase around 4 AM with the highest potential for thunderstorms from 10 AM to 7 PM. Storms are expected to be non-severe but we continue to monitor a low chance for storm rotation given the high shear low CAPE environment.
A Flood Watch remains in effect through 4 AM Wednesday for the Bay Area and Central Coast. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Advisories/Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Turn around, don't drown!
A Wind Advisory remains in effect for portions of the Bay Area and Central Coast through 8 PM tonight. Our biggest concern is that the combination of wind and moist soils will increase the risk for downed trees. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Here's a look at additional rain still expected through Friday. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Remember: turn around, don't drown!
