Francine Expected to Produce Multiple Hazards Along the Gulf Coast

Tropical storm Francine in the western Gulf of Mexico continues to strengthen and track northward. Heavy to excessive rainfall and flooding, life-threatening storm surge and strong winds are expected along the Texas and Louisiana coasts Tuesday through the middle of the week with landfall likely along the Louisiana coast on Wednesday. Strong winds are possible Wednesday and Thursday as an upper level low comes through the region. Northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts to 40 to 50 mph possible, especially along the Pacific coast, East Bay Hills, Salinas Valley, and Santa Lucia Mountains.
