A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect for Pacific Coast beaches from 10AM this morning through 9PM tomorrow night. If the warm weather lures you to the beach, stay safe by staying vigilant: remain out of the water, stay off of rocks, and never turn your back on the ocean!
Headed to the beach to enjoy the nice weather? Not to be a wet blanket, but please be mindful of some of the hazards associated with venturing near the water as there will be an elevated risk for sneaker waves and rip currents. This will be especially true for our Pacific Coast beaches. Stay off of jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside infrastructure. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous surf and NEVER turn your back on the ocean. Monitor local weather, surf and tide forecasts at www.weather.gov/mtr.
