Fire weather concerns increase midweek across the North Bay Interior Mountains into the Diablo Range and eastern Santa Clara mountains due to gusty northerly winds and critically dry conditions. Moderate HeatRisk is expected to arrive Wednesday for inland locations, and persist into the later part of the week. This level of heat brings a risk of heat-related illnesses for sensitive populations, including children, the elderly, and people who work or live outdoors. Take breaks in the shade and drink plenty of water!

HEADS UP: If you’re planning to beat the heat with a trip to the coast, please stay alert! 🌊 #CAwx A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect now through 5 AM Thursday for Pacific Coast beaches in Sonoma, Marin, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz counties, especially south and southwest facing beaches. Long-period southerly swell will generate hazardous conditions at the beach, including sneaker waves and strong rip currents. Stay back from the water’s edge, stay off of jetties and piers, and NEVER turn your back on the ocean.
