Two storm systems will track through the central and eastern U.S. today through this weekend with areas of gusty winds, rain and heavy snow. Severe thunderstorms and heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast today from the Lower Mississippi River Valley to the Tennessee Valley. TVA Lake Basins Rainfall Information

This page provides information showing the rainfall distribution across the watershed basins of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lakes. This is to demonstrate the relationship between local rainfall and rainfall averages over an entire lake watershed. Although some locations may experience an inch or greater of rainfall with a particular weather event, the basin average across the entire watershed may be significantly less due to the isolated nature of the rainfall. Thus, the actual amount of water actually feeding into the lake is relatively low.
