A quick shot of snow is expected overnight, with accumulations likely only in the higher elevations (generally above 2,000 feet). Most people in the Valley should see a quick shot of cold drizzle.
Rain will move in this evening with a rain and snow mix or even transition to snow late tonight into early Sunday morning. Light accumulations are likely in portions of southwest Virginia and the East Tennessee mountains. A period of gusty winds is also expected in the East Tennessee mountains and foothills tonight. Dry weather will return on Saturday with highs rising into the 40s for most.
