Tri-Cities weather radio WXK-47 is currently off air due to loss of power at Holston Mountain. Officials are working to restore power, it will hopefully be back up and running soon. The Knoxville and Chattanooga transmitters are operating normally. Good news is the rain is moving out of the region and no flooding or storms are expected.
A cold front will continue to move through the region this afternoon and tonight. Gusty winds will pick up especially in the higher elevations after midnight and persist into Sunday afternoon. A sharp drop in daytime temperatures will occur Sunday with highs generally in the 40s. A few snow showers will be possible particularly across southwest Virginia and upper northeast Tennessee. By Tuesday a gradual warming trend will begin but it will be short lived.
