Melbourne WSR-88D Hurricane Andrew Radar Pictures

August 24th 2012 was the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Andrew's landfall in south Florida. NWS Miami has much more information about this historic Category 5 Hurricane on their Andrew page.

The Melbourne doppler radar was operating on August 24, 1992, and although the range to south Florida was extreme (about 160nm), these historic images of Hurricane Andrew were recorded.
