Last day for warmer temperatures for a little while, with afternoon temperatures today slightly above normal for this time of year. There is a low to medium (20-30 %) chance of showers this afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front that will push through later tonight. These showers will move across the local area from north to south through the afternoon and early evening. Windy and gusty conditions will develop this afternoon, with sustained southwest winds around 15 to 25 mph. A Wind Advisory is now in effect for northern portions of east central Florida through 7 PM this evening, for gusts up to 35 to 45 mph. Farther south it will still be windy, but gusts will be closer to 30 to 35 mph. Marine conditions will be hazardous today with a marginal risk for rip currents at all area beaches.
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange and northern Brevard counties today through 7 PM EST. Gusts up to 35 to 45 mph are forecast across this area ahead of an approaching strong cold front.
A strong cold front will push through the local area late tonight, bringing much colder air across east central Florida Tuesday into mid week. Tuesday morning is forecast to be the coldest of this week, with most likely minimum wind chill temperatures in the upper 20 to low 30s from Brevard to Osceola county northward. Patchy frost is also possible Tuesday morning.
A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Tuesday Morning for Lake, Volusia, Seminole and Orange Counties from 3 AM until 9 AM. Very cold wind chills as low as 25 to 30 degrees expected.
