Scattered showers and storms will then develop earlier today, shifting west from the coast this morning and across the interior this afternoon. A few stronger storms will be possible, producing strong wind gusts to 40-50 mph, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall of 1-3". Highs will be close to normal, ranging from the upper 80s to low 90s today.

A surge of moisture will lead to increasing shower and storm chances through late week into early weekend, and then rain chances begin to gradually decrease Sunday into early next week. As shower and storm coverage decreases into next week, heat impacts will be on the rise.
