Once again, we are urging beach goers to use caution. The surf will look more inviting as wave heights get closer to normal, but numerous, strong, life-threatening rip currents will still be present at all central Florida Atlantic beaches. Many surf zone accidents happen after a major coastal event when the ocean starts to settle and appear less threatening to the untrained eye. Enter the surf is not advised. As for the forecast, rain and afternoon lightning storm chances return to the southern counties. Isolated storms will be capable of occasional to frequent cloud to ground lightning, gusty winds to 40 mph, and heavy downpours. If thunder roars, go indoors! Afternoon highs warm up a smidge to the mid-80s.
