Click/tap image to enlarge | Gradual clearing as a weakening front sages south. Showers and lightning storms will persist mainly across the south (rain chances from 20% near Melbourne to 50% near Port St Lucie, and a very low 10% chance to the north) near the front. An uptick in showers and lightning storms across the south is expected in the afternoon and evening. While not “cool”, afternoon high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s will be below normal for the time of year. At the beaches hazardous surf is expected due to a moderate risk of rip currents and a developing southward flowing longshore current. Boating conditions in the Atlantic waters are poor this morning as winds tick up to 15 to 20 knots with seas 3 to 6 feet.
