On Thursday, the first front of the Fall season reaches central Florida. Rain and storm chances remain above normal Thursday as the front pushes through before drier air gradually filters down the peninsula; this will allow rain chances to linger across the south through the rest of the week and into the weekend. Breezy to windy conditions Thursday and Friday will produce poor to hazardous beach and marine impacts which includes rough surf and a high risk of rip currents.

Moderate risk of lightning storms across all of east central Florida today and Thursday, then the risk shifts south and decreases Friday and Saturday. Wind gusts Thursday behind the front pick up to 25-35 mph from Brevard and Osceola counties north, including the Orlando and Daytona Metro areas. Friday wind gusts 25-30 mph will spread across the whole area. These winds will produce a high risk of rip currents and high/rough surf at the beaches Thursday into the weekend. Boating conditions will become hazards Thursday into Friday as seas build to 7 to 12 feet and winds increase to 15 to 30 knots, highest north of Sebastian inlet.
