These temperatures combined with humidity will produce peak heat indices of 105-108 degrees. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are forecast to form along the east coast sea breeze and move inland this afternoon. Storms that manage to form will be capable of frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall.

A widespread Moderate to Major HeatRisk is expected with the greatest risk being across the interior. Remember to practice heat safety!
