Extreme drought is present in Fulton County, OH, extending into neighboring counties
Severe Drought conditions are present in northwest Ohio, extending west through northern Indiana
Moderate Drought conditions are present in portions of far southern Michigan

Precipitation
7-day rainfall has favored Illinois, extending into northwest Indiana

Toward the Indiana-Ohio state line, about 25% to 50% of normal rainfall has been recorded (7-day)

30-day rainfall continues to be well below normal

Hydrologic Impacts 
Pond and creek levels are low or very low. (County extension reports)

Agricultural Impacts
A few instances of field fires.  (Social media reports. County extension reports) 
Supplemental hay and water for livestock is needed (USDA Weekly Report Indiana)
Slow winter wheat emergence (USDA Weekly Report Ohio)

There are a couple of rain chances in the coming week

Forecast rain amounts are generally modest, approaching 0.50”

Forecast rainfall in addition to recently observed rainfall will ease short-term drought conditions, but long-term drought impacts persist

Released on 10/31, above-normal precipitation is favored through November. This is primarily driven by the heavy rainfall that occurred along the Mississippi River earlier this week (11/3).
